Feed Enzyme
Enzymes for animal nutrition help improve digestion processes and make the most of the feed while keeping feed costs low.
Feed enzymes have an important role to play in current farming systems. Animal feed is predominantly composed of plant material, mainly cereals and vegetable proteins. Much of this cannot be fully digested and utilized, especially by monogastric animals. However, feed utilization and digestion can be increased by the addition of external enzymes to the feed. Adding the phytase enzyme to pig and poultry feed leads to a better utilization of phosphorus as well as other trace elements and nutrients. The enzymes xylanase and glucanase improve energy and nutrient utilization from degradation of nonstarch polysaccharides (NSPs). Enzymes thereby contribute toward reducing feed cost and protecting the environment.
While enzymes ensure greater efficiency in the production of animal products, including meat and eggs, adding enzymes to feed also minimizes the environmental impact of animal production.
